Independent Artistry

The Power of Creating for Yourself

I started Little in Lace because I wanted to remain true to myself as a designer. In a world where the role of fashion designer has shifted from independent thoughts and ideas to a copy, cut, and paste culture, I really aimed to work toward creating something that showcased my individuality. Although a tough task, with the support of my friends, family, and social media followers, I have been actively pursuing my dreams as an independent artist.

The Little Black Slip

There’s something incredibly powerful about creating from a place of authenticity. I didn’t want to follow every trend or mold my work to fit into someone else's vision of what’s “in.” I wanted to build something honest. Something mine. That often means long nights, slow growth, and choosing intention over instant gratification—but it also means waking up every day excited to keep building.

Independent artistry isn’t easy. You're often your own team, wearing every hat imaginable: designer, seamstress, stylist, marketer, accountant. But there's beauty in the challenge. There's freedom in calling the shots, and there's unmatched joy in seeing someone connect with something you created from the ground up.

Introducing “The Lace Library” Our Luxury Rental & Custom Design Experience Service

My journey with Little in Lace has been full of trial and error, but also full of love and learning. I’m constantly inspired by the people who believe in what I do, who share kind words, repost my work, or simply cheer from afar. That support is everything—it’s what keeps me going.

So if you're an artist, creative, or dreamer of any kind reading this: keep going. Keep making what feels real to you. The world needs more originality, more soul, more voices that don't sound like everyone else’s.

And as for me, I’ll keep creating—stitch by stitch—with love, purpose, and a whole lot of lace.
